Zedd & Kehlani Play Out a Service Industry Revenge Fantasy in ‘Good Thing’ Video

76

For as long as there has been free-market capitalism, there have been rich jerks and the plucky waitstaff hired to be at their beck and call. Zedd and Kehlani make this point in a stylish, sassy and ultimately satisfying way in the new video for their track "Good Thing," out Thursday (Oct. 3).

In the clip, Zedd plays a humble piano player at a 1920s-era Great Gatsby-esque nightclub. As he entertains the patrons and gets verbally abused by his boss, Kehlani drops into frame as the waitress who must deal with the rudeness and condescension of the well-heeled crowd.

That is, until, she lets loose, pouring drinks on insufferable guests, ripping off her uniform to reveal a glittery bodysuit, stabbing a guy in the leg with a fork and performing a scintillating dance in one of the club's backrooms. There's even a handsome man in the mix who catches her eye, altogether making this video a fantasy that anyone who's ever worked in the service industry has surely entertained.

The clip was directed by Warren Fu, known for his work with The Weeknd and The 1975. Watch the video for "Good Thing" below.
