Even after the release of So Much Fun, Young Thug isn't done feeding the fans in 2019 just yet. In a new cover story with The FADER, Thugger revealed that he's got another solo album in the stash, which is titled Punk and expected to release within the next couple of months.
The ATLien didn't say whether the album will take on a punk vibe stylistically, but relayed his own definition of punk and described the music as "touching." "It's music that the world is going to embrace," said Thug. "[Punk] means brave, not self centered, conscious. Very, very neglected, very misunderstood. Very patient, very authentic.”
Being one of the seminal figures in hip-hop, Thugger hopes to inject "real rap" into the genre once again with Punk. “[Real rap is] letting people in, letting people know what you go through," the 28-year-old explained. "Let them know that you the same.”
If Thug's a man of his word, look for Punk to arrive before 2019's out. Earlier in August, Thugger also teased a Super Slimey sequel in the works with Future, Lil Baby and Gunna.
