With YG working toward the release of his 4Real 4Real album later this month, the Compton native has a heater on his hands with the Mariachi-inspired "Go Loko," which features Tyga and Puerto Rico's Jon Z. YG pulled up to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday evening, where he served as the musical guest.
Instead of looking at it like any other performance, the trio brought the lively neighborhood's block party seen in the track's visual to the national Kimmel stage. Anything from having the grill running, to a live dice game, and a basketball hoop made the set feel more like somebody's backyard.
A woozy YG also stopped by the Kimmel show to help new listeners break down the lyrics to "Go Loko" with another edition of "New Lyrics for Old People." "It’s a beautiful song about life and love and relationships, but if you’re of an older generation, it might be hard to follow," host Jimmy Kimmel translates.
