The pianist has the Nos. 1 and 2 spots with a pair of livestreams from his New York residency.
A month after rulingBillboard’s Top Facebook Live Videos chart for the first time, Yanni takes things a step further, nabbing the top two spots on the June 2019-dated survey.
The chart, the latest of which recaps June 2019 activity, is a monthly look at the widest-reaching and most-reacted-to videos posted by musicians on Facebook Live, as tracked by media analytics company Shareablee. Rankings are determined by a formula that blends reactions, comments, shares and first-seven-days views.
Yanni’s May 2019 chart lead occurred due to a livestream meant to be a promotion for his multi-night residency at New York’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Both videos on the June 2019 tally, meanwhile, are uploads from that residency, led by a June 1 clip broadcasting part of the performance.
The 28-minute video was watched 2.3 million times in its first seven days out, easily leading all musician-uploaded videos in June, according to Shareablee. It also was second in reactions, earning 36,000 reactions. Meanwhile, the No. 2 clip, originally posted May 31 local time but on June 1 in many areas of the world, showcased Yanni’s May 31 performance and was watched 1.7 million times in its first seven days, alongside 30,000 reactions.
Both Yanni clips beat out Taylor Swift, who ranks at No. 3 with a livestream of her June 2 performance at iHeartRadio’s Wango Tango show. That video, which has since been deleted, was watched 253,000 times prior to its removal and earned 37,000 reactions – more than any other clip in June – plus 22,000 comments and 7,000 shares, also June 2019 bests.
