Wyclef's new protegèe, Jazzy Amra, is able to burst onto the scene below the tutelage of the legendary hyphenate. Today (Feb. 1), the vivacious songstress premieres her six-track debut album AMRA, with an executive-producer credit score from Jean.
Highlighted by uptempo earworms similar to "Waste of Time" and "You Got Me," Amra is poised to flourish in 2019 together with her dulcet vocals and innate writing talents. "My inspiration whereas writing and recording my album was my day by day life," she tells Billboard. "Through the music, I needed folks to get to know me and see the reality about what I've gone by way of. Good and unhealthy."
Jean -- whose resume consists of collaborations with Beyoncé and Shakira -- additionally has effusive reward for Amra. "What drew me to work with Jazzy I might say is identical factor that drew me to work with the likes of Lauryn Hill, the likes of Beyonce [and] Mary J. Blige," Jean tells Billboard. "As a church boy, I'm impressed by what I name "uncooked abilities."
