Plus: Christian Nodal, Wolfine & Jerry Rivera gain across Latin charts.
Less than three months after his last No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart, Wisin takes over at the summit with “Quisiera Alejarme,” featuring Ozuna, spending its first week at No. 1 on chart dated Aug. 18. The song -- which continues to prit from a remix featuring CNCO -- spikes 11-1 with a 59 percent increase in audience impressions (to 15 million) in the week ending Aug. 12, according to Nielsen Music.
Wisin adds his fifth leader the year, upping his career count to 14 No. 1s, tying with Romeo Santos for the third-most overall and just three below the runner-up: Ricky Martin with 17. Enrique Iglesias continues to lead all artists with 37 No. 1s. For Ozuna, the surge earns him his sixth leader.
Notably, this is Wisin and Ozuna's third collaborative No. 1 -- and all have come in the past year. Wisin’s “Escápate Conmigo,” featuring Ozuna, ruled the list in November 2017, and their featured turn on Reik’s “Me Niego," currently in the tally’s top 10, crowned for two weeks (May-June 2018).
Elsewhere on the chart, Christian Nodal logs his fourth total and consecutive top 10 as “Te Fallé” rises 13-10 (up 6 percent in audience).
The Mexican singer-songwriter earned his first top 10 on the Latin Airplay chart with “Adios Amor,” which peaked at No. 5 (April 22, 2017). He followed it with "Probablemente," featuring David Bisbal (No. 3, Sept. 30, 2017), and "Me Dejé Llevar" (No. 8, March 10, 2018).
Wolfine Scores First Hot Latin Songs Top 10: Meanwhile, Colombian singer Wolfine notches his first top 10 on Hot Latin Songs with “Bella,” his first charted title on any Billboard chart. The song, which debuted at No. 13 (July 28), lands in the list’s top 10 after only four weeks and a little over three months following the release the song’s remix with Maluma on May 4.
Despite the song’s decline in both sales and streams, “Bella” lifts 11-10 on the strength an 18 percent increase in airplay, remaining at No. 18 on the Latin Airplay chart for a second week.
The song’s video featuring Maluma has amassed more than 192 million global views on YouTube.
Jerry Rivera’s 30th Tropical Songs Airplay Top 10: Finally, over on the Tropical Songs airplay chart, Jerry Rivera logs his 30th top 10 with "Mira." The song, a collaboration with Yandel, jumps 13-7 with 1.9 million in audience (up 50 percent).
Rivera continues to have the fifth-most top 10s on the chart, trailing Victor Manuelle with 56, Marc Anthony with 45, Daddy Yankee and Gilberto Santa Rosa with 33 each, and Elvis Crespo with 31.
Notably, among Rivera's 37 chart entries, “Mira” is only his fourth where he's shared billing with another artist, following "Sayonara" (No. 1 in 2016, Jonathan Moly featuring Rivera), "Noche Bohemia" (No. 1 in 2015, Rivera featuring Anthony Santos) and "Primavera" (No. 23 in 2001, Santana featuring Rivera).
