The style icons teamed up to promote Rihanna’s skincare brand, Fenty Skin. As part of a special double episode of GQ and Vogue‘s “Face to Face” series, the stars grilled each other about all things skin care and wellness.
Rihanna was up first, asking the A$AP Mob frontman 18 questions including her skincare routine, the last thing he purchased under $20, and his skin type, which he called “handsome.”
“I had to discover face cleansing and skin care all at the same time when I was a young buck in the shower,” said Rocky. “You can’t wash your body with the same rag you wash your face with. I was lucky enough to be the type of guy that wants to wash my face.”
They both agreed on the food they would never eat under any circumstances–chitlins. “I went to say celery and then I was like, ‘No, I could get through that if my life depended on it,'” said RiRi. “Unless it’s good for your skin.”
Rocky also reminisced about his first red carpet look at the 2012 BET Awards. “You could have used some Fenty Skin back then,” joked Ri.
Then the tables were turned and Rocky asked RiRi 15 questions. She revealed her last purchase under $20, whether she prefers a jacket or umbrella (“I’ve made the most money off a song called ‘Umbrella'”), and her beauty icon–her mother.
“My entire concept of beauty came from her,” she said. “I was always so intrigued by her. I wanted to dress like her, I wanted to look like her, I wanted to do my hair like her, do my makeup like her.”
She also shared her favorite Rocky outfit, what show she likes to binge watch, and how she stays mentally and inspirationally aligned.
“That’s a dope ass question,” she responded to the latter. “I’ve never been asked that shit. I feel like I just found myself.”
