Watch Jenna Dewan Teach Jimmy Fallon the Choreography to Janet Jackson's 'Rhythm Nation'

Actress/dancer Jenna Dewan stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday (June 26) to talk about the new season World Dance, her daughter's “freestyle ballerina” career, and to do her best to teach host Jimmy Fallon the choreography to the Janet Jackson hit “Rhythm Nation.”

Referring to the last time she visited The Tonight Show, the World Dance host said, “I felt like you really nailed the body roll, so I think it's time to up the difficulty a little bit.” Dewan, who started her pressional dance career as a back-up dancer for Jackson, then asked Fallon, “Do you feel like doing 'Rhythm Nation' with me?”

When it came time for Fallon to start dancing, he essentially just started to spin in circles and lean over with his arms swinging, a reference to a story Dewan shared earlier in the show about her daughter Everly and her “free spirited” version ballet.

It was clear that Dewan still had the moves, though, and she absolutely nailed the routine.

Dewan recently recounted her experience auditioning for Jackson's “Doesn't Really Matter” video in an interview with Billboard. “They were looking for just one spot, and I somehow got it. I was 19 I think,” she remembered. “We shot the video and did a few performances, and one day after rehearsal she asked me to stay late. I was like, 'Ahhh, am I getting fired?' And then Janet in her sweet little voice was like, 'Would you wanna go on tour with me?' I just started screaming and jumping up and down. From there, I was one her tour dancers for the All for You Tour, and danced for her for two years straight. I was a full Janet dancer.”
