Fresh off of dropping his new single “Blanco” on Friday (Nov. 15), fans can soon enjoy J Balvin in his new big-screen venture as a troll.
In June, the Colombian singer was announced as one of the cast members of the upcoming movie sequel, Trolls World Tour, joining a star-studded lineup of actors and artists including Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson, Anthony Ramos, Mary J. Blige, Rachel Bloom, Ozzy Osbourne, and Anderson .Paak, to name a few.
Balvin will portray Tresillo, a troll that brings his reggaeton swag to the animated musical adventure. The official second trailer of the family-friendly production shows a scene of three trolls dancing to Balvin’s “Mi Gente,” as a set of animated flowers fangirl over the troll’s moves.
In Trolls World Tour, Poppy (Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake) discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music.
Directed by Walt Dohrn, Trolls World Tour is the sequel to the 2016 Trolls movie set for release on April 17, 2020, by Universal Pictures and feauturing original music by Timberlake, Clarkson, SZA, and others.
