Watch Adam Rippon & NYC Politician Corey Johnson Sing Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe' at Pride Month Event


Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon and NYC City Council Speaker Corey Johnson came together to sing Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" during a Pride Month event on the steps New York's City Hall on Friday (June 8).

Johnson, an LQBTQ rights advocate, tweeted the celebratory moment following the event, which honored Rippon for his work on behalf numerous charitable organizations and the inspiration he provides to the LGBTQ community. In the clip, Johnson and Rippon are seen joyously lip-synching the 2012 hit. Watch below.

Since qualifying, competing and medalling at the 2018 Winter Olympics, the openly gay figure skater has been making headlines not only for his charming personality, but for his advocacy on behalf the LGBTQ.

Johnson and Ribbon also shared a video on Facebook encouraging LGBTQ youth to run for U.S. fice and follow their athletic dreams.

"We're here, we're queer and we aren't going anywhere, so run for fice, pursue your athletic dreams, and don't let anyone tell you you can't do anything. You are a glamazon warrior ready for the runway," the two traded f saying in the video.
