Wynn Las Vegas is announcing a double-hitting engagement with designer, artist and DJ Virgil Abloh, securing both an exclusive DJ residency at their Vegas nightlife properties and the first west coast store location of his fashion brand Off-White.
Abloh, also the Artistic Director of menswear for Louis Vuitton, began his relationship with Wynn as a DJ in February of 2017 through a one-off event at the property's XS Nightclub. Though Abloh has returned several times since, this contract, with dates from June 29 through the end of 2019, takes the relationship to the next level.
“Pushing the boundaries of where art, fashion and music collide has been a driving force behind our success, where every experience we present to guests first passes a litmus test for originality,” said Alex Cordova, Wynn Nightlife Managing Partner. “We are honored to be working with such a visionary who appreciates the impact of artistry, and applies it to everything he does.”
Likewise, Wynn Plaza has been a home to Abloh's multi-media sculpture Arrows and his nine-foot-tall Flower Neon Sign—a collaboration with celebrated Japanese artist Takashi Murakami—since November of 2018. The works are on permanent display in sight of where the new Off-White store, which deals largely in upsacle streetwear, is set to open in July.
Currently, Abloh is scheduled to perform June 29 at XS Nightclub, Sept. 13 at Encore Beach Club, and Oct. 11 at XS Nightclub alongside beloved South African house DJ Black Coffee for a special performance of their duo "White Coffee."
