Drake getting booed off stage 20 minutes into his set as the surprise headliner at Camp Flog Gnaw on Sunday (Nov. 10) night has sent the internet into a frenzy as a sight nobody expected in 2019.
With Tyler, The Creator playing host and having Drake come through to his turf, he addressed the situation with a series of tweets defending the 6 God on Monday (Nov. 11).
In hindsight, Tyler realized the mesh of fan bases might have been the best idea, and on top of that, rumors of Frank Ocean making an appearance as the special guest may have doomed Drizzy from the start.
"I THOUGHT BRINGING ONE OF THE BIGGEST ARTIST ON THE F–KING PLANET TO A MUSIC FESTIVAL WAS FIRE! BUT FLIPSIDE, A LIL TONE DEAF KNOWING THE SPECIFIC CROWD IT DREW," he wrote. "SOME CREATED A NARRATIVE IN THEIR HEAD AND ACTED OUT LIKE A——S WHEN IT DIDNT COME TRUE AND I DONT FUCK WITH THAT."
The Igor artist says he was ashamed at how entitled his audience felt to treat Drake how they did. "MOSTLY EVERYONE WAS HAVING A GREAT TIME, THOSE S–TS IN THE FRONT AREA WERE THE ONES BEING MAD RUDE, WHICH, I CAN SEE WHY, BUT, NAH, F–K THAT, YALL REPRESENTED ME AND FLOG TO MY GUEST AND MADE US LOOK SOOO ENTITLED AND TRASH," Tyler continued. "THAT S–T WAS LIKE MOB MENTALITY AND CANCEL CULTURE IN REAL LIFE AND I THINK THAT SHIT IS F–KING TRASH."
