Twitter Has Mixed Emotions About Migos & N.E.R.D.'s NBA All-Star Performance

While NBA All-Star weekend has presented the ultimate debate among who reigns supreme between league heavy-hitters, this year’s match up was outfitted with musical performances that gave Twitter more than enough ammo to launch f into the Internet. While Fergie’s own rendition the “Star-Spangled Banner” was the performance that launched a thousand memes and people were trying to understand what exactly Kevin Hart was doing during his appearance at the pregame ceremony, social media critics notably debated the performance that arrived at halftime.

Once Lebron James and Steph Curry’s squads headed back to the locker rooms, the stage was graced by Migos, whose “Stir-Fry” served as this year’s All-Star weekend ficial song, alongside N.E.R.D. The pairing was rather appropriate considering the fact that Pharrell produced “Stir-Fry” and N.E.R.D’s Rihanna-assisted “Lemon” has been heating up speakers since its release. Naturally, the conversation fell on things outside the music itself as dancer Mette Towley, who appears in the video for “Lemon,” essentially stole the show with her routine and netizens critiqued and tried to make sense Migos’s outfit selections for the evening.
The ultimate debate lied between which crew saved the halftime performance, with some holding fast to the belief that Migos were floated by N.E.R.D and others maintaining that Migos’ were the only reason to not change the channel. Somewhere along the line, Jaden Smith got added to the mix and Pharrell was prusely compared to Ken Leung’s likeness as the villain in Rush Hour and things basically went left after that.
