Trey Songz Reportedly Cleared in Domestic Violence Case

Trey Songz has been cleared a felony domestic abuse charge after the Los Angeles District Attorney dropped the case.

The charge stems from Andrea Buera who filed a restraining order against Songz last month, claiming the singer beat her repeatedly at a party in California on Feb. 17.

“I was attending an afterparty when Trey began yelling at me, choking at me...and ultimately knocked me to the ground,” Buera recalled at a news conference. “While I was on the ground, he continued punching me and did not stop until his security guard pulled him f me.”

After the alleged assault, Buera went to the hospital where she says she was treated for a concussion. Songz has maintained his innocence saying that he's "being lied on and falsely accused for someone's personal gain."

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources said the singer's attorney, Shawn Holley, gave numerous witness statements to LAPD that contradicted Buera's account events during NBA All-Star Weekend in February. Apparently, the L.A. DA looked over the evidence and found Buera's case lacked credibility.

The case will now be handed over to the L.A. City Attorney, who will decide whether or not to charge Songz with the lesser charge misdemeanor domestic violence.

Buera's attorney, Lisa Bloom, had no comment on the matter.

Trey Songz has also kept quiet about the case. However, on his Instagram page he posted a photo himself with a big smile on his face. The caption reads, "God told me not to worry, I said ok."
