They co-produced and wrote this track together, which effectively adds to their growing saga collaborations, like “Home Again” , and “Souled Out…” . There is distinct a sample-based vibe that weaves through all the hip-hop they have made with each other so far, and its presence is recognized once again in “Sweet Music…”, a song about a character longing for love, yet being on the road and whole-heartedly committed to music and touring. “I Always Wanted to Be In The Band” by Step by Step lays the foundation for this subject matter to percolate, with a call-and-response from the mcee to the sample in the chorus. Jackson draws from his own experience being “torn in two”, and the process coming to terms with music being the top priority, a reality that is accompanied by sacrifice and being apart from the one he loves. Inspired by the most classic hip-hop, with live drums that slap, and verses that churn memories, peep “Sweet Music (feat. Jules Jenssen)”.
