We are still dedicated to showcasing the best tracks/videos from the underground by searching far and wide in order to bring you our weekly list. It’s a tough job as we sift through a ton of high-quality tracks just to settle for just 5 so we switched it up so now we curating the Top 10 Submissions. Now that is what we call dedication, so sit back relax and get familiar with these acts.

Louis Metric – “Sundress (Feat. Marley Quinn)”

 

Louis Metric helps start off this week’s list with a new uplifting track titled “Sundress”. Backed by a lush, ethereal backdrop, Metric details his troubled past and how far he has come to get to this stable point in his life. Regardless of the challenges he still finds some time to celebrate the positive side of things. Along for the ride is singer Marley Quinn who provides a solid chorus. “Sundress” is a song of gratitude and is taken from Metric’s E.P. ‘Faking The Experience

Gen-Direct – “Late Night Dr..”

Producer/artist Gen-Direct delivers a smooth, soulful gem titled “Late Night Dr.” He taps into a more sensitive topic here as he details the features of the lady who caught his eye. The Hamilton, Ontario native has a knack for lush, ambient instrumentals and alluring melodic laced vocals which will keep you tuned in from start to finish.

The track is taken from his new project ‘Late Bloomer‘ Out Now.

 

Nao Yoshioka – “Got Me”

Soul singer Nao Yoshioka marks her entry on our list with this solid song titled “Got Me”. Over an ethereal, soulful backdrop, Yoshioka delivers a very heartwarming performance that would surely grip your ears and soul from start to finish. “Got Me” is a grey-area love song of mixed feelings. It describes a doomed relationship plagued by co-dependence and the inability to leave someone, even when deeply hurt because one can’t find the courage to be alone.

 Japanese soul and R&B singer Nao Yoshioka just released her 4th album “Undeniable” Sweet Soul Records. This collection celebrates that moment of rediscovering one’s true nature after losing it somewhere along the way. “Got Me” describes a doomed relationship plagued by co-dependence and the inability to leave someone, even when deeply hurt, because one can’t find the courage to be alone.

Australian Hip-Hop collective SUPEREGO brings back that good old gritty style of rap we love with their new effort titled “Last Tango”. The track encapsulates the feeling of fear and excitement right before making a life-altering decision. The fear of seeing yourself fall behind those you once stood alongside but the excitement of the new path in front of you. Sonically, the track has a cinematic, off-kilter experimental style while the 5 man posse goes forth with their vivid style of rap.

 

D.R. Da Rula – “Dwayne (Will Rap 4 Food)”

Emcee D.R. Da Rula shares his struggle as a budding artist trying to make his way up the ranks in the game and life in general. Over a mellow, soulful backdrop, he shares his frustrations with having to keep a 9 to 5 while things ain’t getting easier as time goes on.

An-G – “You still broke”

 

Budding rapper An-G goes for the jugular on her new release titled “You still broke”. The track sees her pointing out the fake lies and fibs men tell just to be part of the in-crowd. “You still broke” is from her new EP which will be out later this year.

Dana Williams – “Do No Harm”

Singer/songwriter Dana Williams thrills with her new anthemic single titled “Do No Harm”. The Alex Da Kid produced track pairs her signature dreamy vocals, flawless falsettos with catchy hook tops atmospheric guitar chords and a fast, punchy drum beat. Dana says on the new single. “I love how it’s melodic and defiant at the same time. It’s empowering and makes me want to stand up for something. The title draws inspiration from the promise of care that doctors have for their patients.

 

 

 

Nosebleed – “Isaidwhatisaid”

NYC rap collective Nosebleed come through with their own take on hip-hop, life and all the ups and downs on their new darkish effort titled “Isaidwhatisaid” which is produced by Daevon Heirs.
The idea for the video (directed by Mike Weir) takes inspiration from scenes in “The Matrix” & Kanye West’s ” All Day/I Feel like that” Video.

Rejeneration – “Clowns” (feat. Solo).

DMV-based songwriter and recording artist who goes by the moniker Rejeneration stakes her claim with her new record “Clowns”. Over a stanndard trap backdrop, she takes the fake artist who are more concerned with chasing clout than pushing the culture.This song aims to bring light to the hypocritical nature of the songs artists release in the industry.

Tyrone Hendrix – “My Brothers Keeper” feat. Vursatyl The Great, Jarrod Lawson.

 

Drummer/Producer Tyrone Hendrix teams up with emcee Vursatyl The Great and vocalist Jarrod Lawson on his new effort titled “My Brothers Keeper”. The soul-tinged gem sees Vursatyl dwell on friendship, life and the universal golden rule while Lawson provides a solid heartwarming chorus.

After the success of his Debut Album (Rhythm on Life Vol.1) Drummer/Producer Tyrone Hendrix is releasing his follow up album titled Rhythm on Life Vol.2. Rhythm on Life Vol. 2 features Soul Singers Lindsey Webster, Jarrod Lawson, saxophonist Mike Phillips (Prince, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson), legendary Portland MC Vursatyl The Great, The Portland Cello Project, and a host of other artists and musicians.

Xkwisit Ft. Albany Lou – “1-2 Da Dome”

Xkwisit teams up with Albany Lou for some good old bar-fest on his new song “1-2 Da Dome” and its accompanying visuals. Backed by a rumbling soul-filled backdrop (produced by Alpha Star ), the duo go for the jugular with hard-body lyrics.

“1-2 Da Dome” is the first single off Xkwisit’s project ‘Vigilante’ which will be out at the end of September.
