Los Angeles, CA – Right on queue, Hip Hop legend Too $hort has made his entrance into the Web 3.0 community.

On Friday (December 17), Too $hort premiered his new single “Nasty Dance” on the Kid Cudi-backed interactive live music app Encore. The release of the single marks the ongoing partnership between Too $hort and Encore for a string of exclusive live augmented reality performances.

Apart of his “Live from Too $hort’s Funhouse” series, each of the performances will feature new music from $hort’s forthcoming studio album.

“Y’all heard it first on @ClapForEncore…now stream that shit BIIIITCH!! #NastyDance,” Too $hort wrote in an Instagram post on Friday.

In a press communication from Business Wire, Too $hort expressed how excited he was to be able to connect with his fans in new ways and explained how he plans to make his impact in the world of augmented reality by bringing his “virtual strip club,” to the metaverse.

“I’m always looking for innovative ways to connect with my fanbase and support tools for new artists, so this is the perfect partnership,” he said. “Encore is disrupting the live music experience through augmented reality and I’m looking forward to taking it to a new level with an entertaining performance in my virtual strip club.”

Last year, Kid Cudi co-founded Encore with screenwriter Ian Edelman, and former Facebook software engineer Jonathan Gray to create a mobile live performance experience designed to help artists make a living off of their craft, share music, chat with fans and host live shows.

Encore helps artists monetize and connect with their listeners via an interactive interface that gives users the ability to pay the artist in the app directly from their interactions during the performance.
