Congratulations are in order for country singer Emily Ann Roberts and her new fiancé, who recently got engaged in a surprise proposal on her 21st birthday.
The 2015 Voice runner-up's future husband, Chris Sasser, proposed to Roberts Oct. 23 during a hike in Asheville, North Carolina on her 21st birthday, she told People. The singer later announced the exciting news on Instagram.
"I GET TO MARRY MY BEST FRIEND," Roberts captioned a series of photos with Sasser. "I’m so thankful that the Lord brought Chris into my life at just the perfect time and for all the love and support he’s given me every single day for the past 4 and a half years.. Here’s to having forever!!!"
Roberts and Sasser first met while they were juniors in high school, and have been together ever since.
The singer, who recently moved to Nashville, released her debut EP, Someday Dream, in January. She returned to The Voice in May to sing her single "Someday Dream."
