The Game Says 'Kanye Will Always Be a Friend of Mine,' Despite Recent Actions: Exclusive


“The strategy was always to ‘MAKE AMERICA YE’ AGAIN,'” the Compton MC tells Billboard.

Since Kanye West's return to the limelight, his behavior and statements have rubbed several his contemporaries the wrong way. After his cringe-worthy thoughts on slavery being a “choice” aired on TMZ earlier this week, Chris Brown, and more vocalized their disappointment in the famed Chicago MC.

Despite being lambasted by his peers, one artist who remains supportive West is The Game.

“Notice that a week ago the world was silent about Kanye. Now the entire world is in uproar over things he has said or done for the world to see,” The Game told Billboard email. “Don’t think for a minute that his actions and plan weren’t well thought out and set up for his goal to reach his maximum potential. Kanye will always be a friend mine & although I might not necessarily agree with his views on certain topics, that is what separate us as individuals.”

Game says that Ye's status as an “icon” allows this thoughts to be magnified by the media and public, whether they are positive or negative. “Our opinions, views, care & concern is what keeps us all whole. He has gotten great at preying on the minds people & causing commotion when he sees fit and is a big enough icon for it to have an effect catastrophic proportion on both people and media which at times go hand & hand.”

Finally, he concluded by sharing his belief that as soon as people embrace that Kanye is truly being himself, then people will be more receptive to loving the Chicago MC again. “Kanye is Kanye is Kanye !!!! The sooner you realize that, the more comfortable you’ll be when you slide back into your Yeezy’s. The strategy was always to 'MAKE AMERICA YE’ AGAIN.'”

West and The Game have teamed up several times in the studio including their 2006 collaboration “Wouldn't Get Far.” West also produced “Dreams” f Game's 2005 debut album, The Documentary
