If you're a fan of The Chainsmokers and you've been trying to call the number +1 (212) 969-8427, stop. You're supposed to text it.
Fans seemed confused when the duo first tweeted the number earlier today (July 17), but they've since posted a video which explains the text idea a fake conversation with Illenium and vocalist Lennon Stella.
Texting the number leads to a YouTube link teasing the collaborators' forthcoming single "Takeaway." We've got a copy of the unlisted video clip below, which features the musicians looking serious as they explore the breathtaking architecture of Heatherwick's Vessel at Hudson Yards in New York City.
"Takeaway" was previously teased earlier this year by The Chainsmokers at Ultra Music Festival and Illenium during EDC Las Vegas. (Illenium has also worked with the 'smokers before on his remix of their track "Don't Let Me Down.") Fans have anxiously awaited the release of "Takeaway," and this clip sounds very much in line with The Chainsmokers' usual sound.
No word on when the track gets a full release, but stay tuned for more details, and check out the tweet and teaser video below, along with a few fan reactions, just for fun.
