The 1975's Matty Healy Records Song With Actor Father For Upcoming Album

The 1975 frontman Matty Healy has recruited his father, actor Tim Healy, for a song an upcoming album.

The English actor confirmed the news on Twitter Saturday (June 30) with a brief message about the new track and a loving picture with his son.

“Had a brill day recording a song I wrote when Matty was 11 he wanted it on his new album yippee you can hear it in April love you guys,” Tim Healy wrote.

Tim Healy, who is perhaps best known for playing Dennis Patterson on the TV show Auf Wiedersehen, also posted a photo himself sitting at the piano with Matty alongside him. “In the studio,” he captioned the picture.

It doesn't appear that the new song will appear on The 1975's upcoming album, A Brief Enquiry Into Online Relationships, which is expected to drop in October.

However, Matty Healy has noted that The 1975 has two albums in the works, the second which could be released in May 2019. So the new song with his dad may appear on the follow-up.

The 1975 recently premiered the song “Give Yourself a Try,” from its third upcoming album, on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show.
