Recent Billboard cover stars The 1975 are rocketing toward the release their third album, and on Wednesday (Aug. 15), they dropped the third new track from the LP.
The quirkily titled “TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME” loosely references frontman Matty Healy’s lyrics, which capture his side a back-and-forth with a romantic partner. Both parties appear to be getting into the same kind mischief: “I swear that I only called her one time/ Maybe it was two times?… You text that boy sometimes!”
An ficial press release calls the airy electro-pop song “the second single” from the Manchester band’s forthcoming album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, suggesting it will follow “Give Yourself a Try” in getting full-scale radio promotion and that last month’s “Love It If We Made It” was more an album teaser to hold fans over.
“Give Yourself a Try” has peaked at No. 14 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart so far and currently sits at No. 32.
