Takeover Tuesday Playlist: Karol G Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month With Her Favorite Latin Jams

Welcome back to Takeover Tuesday, where each week, Billboard taps chart-topping artists and taste-makers to compile their very own playlist exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. We give the artists free reign to base the list on whatever subject they choose. The only rule? Make it as creative and unique to them as possible.

With hits such as “Mi Cama” making the rounds on the Billboard Latin charts, there’s no denying that Karol G is one the Latina women currently dominating the Latin urban scene.

Karol showed her potential with her debut studio album, Unstoppable, which debuted at No. 2 on the Top Latin Albums chart last November. But the 27-year-old has since proven she's a Latin mainstay: Currently, Karol G sits at No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart thanks to her remix on Luis Fonsi’s “Calypso” (chart dated Sept. 15). She's following that up with another big collaboration on Friday (Sept. 14), teaming up with Anuel Aa for a track called “Culpable."

Ahead her new release and the launch Hispanic Heritage Month on Sept. 15, the Colombian songstress shared 10 songs that highlight Latin urban stars from her home country and beyond. "These are my favorite tunes at the moment," Karol tells Billboard. "Talent from all over the world, as well as talent from different Latin American countries. A perfect playlist to celebrate Hispanic Heritage."

Karol’s playlist — which she titled "My Latina Jams" — includes songs from fellow female rising stars Anitta ("Downtown") and Natti Natasha ("Buena Vida"), her compatriot Manuel Turizo (“Culpables”) and party-starting jams such as Ozuna’s “Vaina Loca” and Anuel AA’s “Quiero Beber.” But it wouldn't be a fair Hispanic Heritage celebration without Karol G herself, so she also included her own sultry hit, “Pineapple.”
