T.I. Says Starbucks Boycott Is Important Because "There Needs To Be Real Action"

After a video went viral this past weekend two Black men getting arrested for sitting at Starbucks, it sparked such outrage that the company released an apology. “We apologize to the two individuals and our customers for what took place at our Philadelphia store on Thursday,” they said in a statement. No matter how sincere the cfee company may be, people are still urging others to boycott Starbucks and T.I. is just one many who is for it.

After the incident, the “No Mediocre” rapper shared a post on Instagram stating he will no longer spend his “bread” there and TMZ caught up with the homie for more his thoughts on the matter.  When asked why we should boycott the company, T.I. said:

“We should preserve our right to stop spending our money at places that don’t respect us equally. Until they’ve made some progressive steps to let us know how they plan on rectifying the situation, I don’t see no other answer. If there’s one thing that America has shown us, there’s only two ways that you can get their attention— the loss life and the loss finances. It’s just too much that’s been left undone when it comes to us being treated equally and fairly in this country.”

Tip let it be known that he has nothing against Starbucks personally, but “ultimately, the greater good all is my priority.” Watch the full video below.
