Swedish pop singer AMWIN shares the video for her new single “Dua Lipa” exclusively with Billboard below.
Shot on location in Spain, the Nicolina Knapp-directed video finds the rising talent -- born Amanda Winberg -- serving a variety of bold, brightly colored looks, including a ruffled magenta robe and an iridescent sequined number as she runs an imaginary world the pop star dreamt up herself.
“The song has a very happy sound, but still has a melancholic side to it,” AMWIN tells Billboard. “When falling in love I find myself floating between those emotions. Struggling with the fear of losing control and fear of breaking. I wanted to capture that part of my person as well as the joyful side of love.”
“Dua Lipa” is featured on AMWIN in Wonderland, the singer’s debut EP, and follows the equally high-fashion visuals for “Uber” and “DeLorean.” The new song borrows the name of a certain best new artist Grammy winner, and in an interview with Women in Pop, AMWIN explained, "Dua Lipa is the shit. She’s super hot, really cool and most people, I think, would do anything for her. Like I would for my crush in the song. Honestly, while making this song it was just the first person I thought of, like, ‘Who else is better than ice cream? Ah, Dua Lipa.’"
