Eight years since her last project, Melody Thornton returns with her new EP, Lioness Eyes.

The former Pussycat Doll showcases her soulful vocals and emotionally-charged lyrics while telling her powerful story on the 7-track project, which was executive produced by Melody with additional production from Andrew Scott and Eric Zayne.

The stirring lead single “Phoenix Rise” is an anthem in times of social unrest, while “Love Will Return” is a tale of love and heartbreak. Other highlights include the infectious bop “Sing About You” and the throwback love song “I Will Wait.”

“My focus and ambition for this project was to create more of a musical identity as an artist. I also wanted to design and curate–not just write–great songs,” said Melody. “I want people to listen to this the way we listened to albums in the in the ’90s. There’s a flow from beginning to end. It tells a story.”

Lioness Eyes marks Melody’s first full-length project since 2012’s POYBL. On Sept. 4, she will perform a livestreamed concert from The Hotel Café in Los Angeles. Tickets are on sale now.
