Festivalgoers can pitch a tent on the floor or book glamping options at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC!) for the fall festival whose headliners include Foals, Kraftwerk 3D and Jamiroquai.
BIME LIVE in Bilbao, Spain is offering camping and glamping options inside the convention center where the music festival takes place.
For a charge of 12 euros (about $13.20), Festival-goers can bring a tent and pitch it on the floor in a designated area of the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC!) during the festival, which is set for Nov. 1 and 2, with headliners including Foals, Kraftwerk 3D and Jamiroquai as well as separate stages for urban and electronic music.
“We want to appeal to a young audience,” says BIME LIVE communications director Eva Castillo, who explains that young music fans in Spain and beyond closely associate the festival experience with that of camping. “We want to offer them that complete experience, even though BIME LIVE is not a summer festival and it is not outdoors.”
The Bilbao festival’s accommodations also include glamping, with options including individual and double sleep capsules with acoustic insulation and air conditioning, and deluxe tents with air mattresses, with packages ranging from 84 to 474 euros (about $92-$522).
The capsules and deluxe tents will be furnished by The Glamping Co., a Barcelona company that has provided higher end tents and camping experiences for outdoor festivals in Spain including Doctor Music. Arenal Sound and Rototom Sunsplash.
The BIME LIVE lineup also includes Floating Points, Michael Kiwanuka, Brittany Howard, Röyksopp and Roísín Murphy. Kaydy Cain, Coucou Chloe, Kamixlo, among others, will perform on the festival’s dance stage, called Goxo. In addition, BIME City, an extension of the festival, will offer showcases in venues around Bilbao on Oct. 30 and 31, and Bilbao's music industry conference, BIME Pro, is set for Oct. 30 to Nov. 1.
