Singer-Songwriter gnash Relives Relationship Woes in 'Imagine If' Exclusive Premiere


In anticipation his debut album arriving this fall, singer-songwriter gnash goes through the motions relationship regret in the music video for “Imagine If,” premiering exclusively on Billboard today (June 8).

The clip, directed by gnash and DJ Brawner, sees the Los Angeles native looking back on the times he'd taken advantage the comfort being with someone else, filming himself singing along with the lyrics with a camcorder and rushing to deliver a VHS to his girl to express his regrets.

“I took two years f making new music to get my mind right,” he explains. “I’d have ideas here & there, but this was the first song I’d made in a long time that really spoke to me. I felt it honestly resembled the growth I’d been working towards and finally experiencing. I heard the idea on a day I was going through something heavy in my life and it helped me, so I knew I needed to be the person to give this song to the world.”

The visuals for “Imagine If” arrive as a preview what to expect from his upcoming debut full-length, arriving Atlantic Records this fall. The single comes on the heels a two-year hot streak for gnash, who broke into the mainstream with his duet “i hate u, i love u” featuring Oli O'Brien, which reached No. 10 on the Hot 100.

With three EPs under his belt, gnash most recently made a splash with a feature on MAX's “Lights Down Low,” which peaked at No. 20. He'll also tour this summer as a special guest on Dashboard Confessional and All Time Low's co-headlining Summer Ever After, kicking f Aug. 3 in St. Paul, Minn. He will also perform at this year's Billboard Hot 100 Fest, taking place on Aug. 18-19 at Jones Beach Theater in Long Island, New York.
