Not even the rain could hold Shawn Mendes back this morning during his Today showperformance on Friday (June 1). Ahead his first Governors Ball appearance, the musician rocked the morning show crowd with three hits from his catalog, including "In My Blood" and "Nervous" from his new self-titled album -- his first time ficially performing the latter.
During an interview with the Today hosts, the 19-year-old singer said that while he loves all three his albums equally, his latest release is the one he’s most proud . "I think it’s just the most honest I’ve ever been with my music," Mendes said before shouting out his loyal fans. "I’m thrilled that the fans have stuck with me through everything and they’re loving the new music too."
The fans in the Today crowd knew all the words to his songs and belted them right along with him, leading Mendes to joke that "they were a part his band."
