Sebastián Yatra caught up with Billboard ahead of the 2019 Latin Grammys to play "Fishing for Answers," as he revealed what his hidden talent is, who his dream collaboration would be with, who he considers to be an innovator in Latin music, and much more.
Selecting questions out of a fishbowl, Yatra is first posed with the question of what secret skill he possesses, as he divulges that he can crack his wrist and shows off the skill.
Asked which artist, living or dead, he wishes he could sing with, he names Andrea Bocelli, noting that he has always wanted to work with him, and hopes that one day he will be able to.
As for what the first concert he ever attended was, Yatra recalls seeing Juanes perform in Miami when he was a child. “And now…I'm about to sing in front of him, Person of the Year. And I'm about to sing next to him, ‘Bonita,’ at the Latin Grammys, so it is pretty insane.”
In the interview, Yatra also names J Balvin as an innovator in Latin music, explaining that Balvin is always reinventing himself with new musical styles and fashion styles. “He’s always one step ahead, and as an innovator,” he says, “He is spectacular.”
