Plus: Ozuna has a record-tying week, Karol G gets her first top 10 on Latin Airplay and Gente de Zona and El Micha get new top 10s.
Romeo Santos scores his 14th No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart (dated July 21) with “Sobredosis” featuring Ozuna as the song rockets 13-1. The track logged 15.5 million in audience impressions in the week ending July 15 (up 64 percent), according to Nielsen Music. The gain in airplay takes Santos to the top a little less than a year after he notched his 13th leader with “Imitadora” (July 9, 2017) which led for four weeks. For Ozuna, “Sobredosis” earns him his fourth No. 1 and third the year.
Ozuna also scores a record-tying four concurrent songs in the top 10 the Latin Airplay chart, a feat that only Wisin & Yandel had previously achieved (Feb. 25, 2006-dated list). Ozuna’s “Unica” vaults at 12-7 in its 11th frame thanks to a 21 percent gain in audience (rising to 11.5 million). In addition to "Unica" and "Sobredosis," Ozuna is also at No. 3 (Reik’s “Me Niego” featuring Ozuna and Wisin) and No. 9 (“Te Boté” by Casper Magico, Nio Garcia, Darell, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Bad Bunny).
Elsewhere, “Unica” enters the top 10 the Hot Latin Songs tally — which blends airplay, sales, and streams — as it bumps 11-10 and takes the week’s Airplay Greatest Gainer honors. In addition to airplay, the song ascends on the strength streams, collecting four million U.S. streams in the week ending July 12 (up 4 percent). The lift grants Ozuna his 11th top 10.
Karol G’s First Top 10: Continuing on Latin Airplay, Karol G earns her first top 10 on the tally as “Mi Cama” jumps 14-10 with 10.1 million in audience. The rise was prompted by the new remix with J Balvin featuring Nicky Jam released on July 13; J Balvin is now credited as a co-lead on the song and Jam is now ficially billed as featured on it, effective this week.
Her fourth chart entry, “Mi Cama,” bests her highest peak on the list in over a year: “Hello” with Ozuna landed at No. 26 early in 2017.
Gente de Zona, El Micha Climb: Over on the Tropical Songs airplay chart, Gente de Zona’s “Te Duele” surges 15-9 with 45 percent increase in audience, granting the duo its 14th top 10. The song is the duo's second top 10 on the latest chart. Their co-billed title with Il Volo, “Noche Sin Día,” stands at No. 4 for a second week.
In the past 12 months, Gente de Zona has been on fire, racking up seven top 10s on the Tropical Songs chart, more than any other act in that span time.
One step below "Te Duele," former basketball player turned Latin urban performer El Micha earns his first top 10 with “Suma y Resta” with Gilberto Santa Rosa as the song bumps 11-10 (up 4 percent). Santa Rosa logs his 33rd top 10 tying Daddy Yankee for thr third-most top 10s on the list. Ahead them: Victor Manuelle (56) and Marc Anthony with (43).
