Former ESPN reporter Britt McHenry claims she was laid f by the company in 2017 due to the fact that she is white and “made too much.”
McHenry, who currently serves as a Fox News commentator and host “Like It Or Not” on WTTG Fox 5 in Washington, opened up about being laid f after being trolled on twitter about being dropped from NFL coverage. She has since deleted the tweets, but not before the comments were screen-shotted and spread. “No I was demoted because I was white & I made too much. First to go. Actually…” McHenry wrote, during the twitter exchange.
In a reply to Deadspin, McHenry tried to clarify some her comments, saying, “I think there were a number factors into laying me f.” She also believes her conservative views contributed to her being let go by ESPN. “Trust me, I wouldn’t make a claim without pro. One day in a book. One day soon,” she said.
Jemele Hill, a former colleague McHenry, simply tweeted “LOL” in response to an article about McHenry’s claims.
