Red Velvet Go On a Wild Beach Adventure in ‘Umpah Umpah’ Watch

Red Velvet released their new video for "Umpah Umpah" on Monday (Aug. 19), and it sees the group go on a chaotic beach adventure.

The new visual features the K-pop group’s Wendy, Yeri, Irene, Joy, and Seulgi as they drive a car that's packed to the brim with suitcases to a cartoonish beach house. There, they hide from a thunderstorm, play magical board games, and dance on a rainy rooftop, all while breaking out bouncey dance moves in a very over-the-top video.

The song is centered around the oddly satisfying phrase, "umpah umpah," as they sing about falling in love and "something unforgettable." Its explosive chorus combined with glistening instrumentation and infectious melodies and ad libs makes for a pretty euphoric track and like the video, it's quite outlandish.

The single comes from the group's seventh EP 'The ReVe Festival' Day 2, which was released on Aug. 20 and is the followup to 'The ReVe Festival' Day 1, released earlier this year in June. It comes with five other songs, and August marks Red Velvet's five year anniversary.

This is the group's second Korean single of 2019. They also released their Japanese Sappy EP in May, and hopped on "Close To Me" with Ellie Goulding and Diplo
