15 years later, Kim Kardashian and Ray J’s sex tape is still generating headlines.

After Ray J’s bombshell interview with the DailyMail on Wednesday (May 4), in which he claimed Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner were behind the tape’s “leak,” the Kardashian camp is fighting back.

TMZ sources with direct knowledge of the situation claim Kris Jenner wasn’t directly involved in brokering the deal for Kim and Ray J’s sex tape to be distributed through Vivid Entertainment in 2007.

TMZ‘s report also sheds more light on the numbers behind the infamous sex tape, alleging Kim and Ray J negotiated a $1 million advance and a 49 percent split of the profits.

With the tape generating about $100 million in total sales to date — making it the highest-selling sex tape of all time — that means Ray J and Kim Kardashian have raked in about $49 million in the 15 years since its release.

The sex tape recently became a storyline on Hulu’s The Kardashians where a teary-eyed Kim is shown getting emotional over threats of a second sex tape being leaked as she’s preparing for Saturday Night Live in October.

“I’ve never leaked anything,” Ray J told DailyMail. “I have never leaked a sex tape in my life. It has never been a leak. It’s always been a deal and a partnership between Kris Jenner and Kim and me and we’ve always been partners since the beginning of this thing.”

Kanye West ended up flying to L.A. and back to NYC after meeting with Ray J for hours as the two fathers had a heart-to-heart conversation and Ray handed over the laptop, but he claims it only had photos, clips and conversations from their relationship in the 2000s.

Ray J also relayed he hasn’t been in contact with Kim for the last decade but had enough and wanted to speak up finally after feeling “suicidal” and clear his name with all of the alleged misinformation being spread from the Kardashian side.
