Earlier in July, Quavo made the bold declaration that the Migos’ “Straightenin” is the song of the summer. Huncho’s claim received some validation on Saturday (July 10) when former president Barack Obama revealed his official 2021 Summer Playlist and the Culture III standout made the cut.

“With so many folks getting together with family and friends, there’s a lot to celebrate this summer,” Obama wrote.  “Here’s a playlist of songs I’ve been listening to lately—it’s a mix of old and new, household names and emerging artists, and a whole lot in between.”

Quavo hopped on TheShadeRoom‘s comments to brag about his latest achievement and how his prediction came to fruition.

“Told y’all Straightenin song of the summer Obama said it,” he commented.

As far as Hip Hop goes, in addition to the Migos, Barack Obama’s playlist includes JAY-Z’s “Allure,” J. Cole’s “Neighbors” as well as Drake and Lil Baby’s “Wants & Needs.”

Cardi B joked that she could hear Obama using “Straightenin” in daily conversation.

“I can really imagine Barack taking important calls like ‘ain’t nothin but alil bit of straightenin’ congrats boys @migos,” she wrote.

“Straightenin” is currently slotted at No. 61 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100. Culture III debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 earning roughly 130,500 total album-equivalent units in its first week, made up of 106,000 SEA units, 22,500 album sales and 2,000 TEA units.
