With the Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour setting up shop in NYC the rest this week, Quavo decided to stop by Hot 97 and sit down for an interview with Nessa on Monday (Aug. 27) during some downtime. Their chat touched on a number topics, including Nicki Minaj naming the Migos frontman in her playful song "Barbie Dreams."
Huncho had no idea the cheeky track was in the works and even admitted to hearing Queen prior to its release -- but without the inclusion "Barbie Dreams." "Yeah, I laughed. It was funny," he said. "I’m surprised as the rest y’all. I heard the album before it dropped, but I ain’t hear ‘Barbie Dreams']. She dope, the album was fire."
Meanwhile, Quavo and the YRN crew have been engaged in a basketball tournament against Drake and his OVO squad while on tour, and the games have been super competitive to the point a legit referee needs to be involved going forward. "I don’t want to get into detail on who won ’cause it was kinda controversial," Huncho admitted. "We had to have a referee on file and shit, so it’s dead serious."
The 27-year-old also touched on directing his visual for "Workin Me" starring emerging rapper Saweetie. "I ain’t want it to be a model search. I wanted it to be somebody that you can put in the video and tell you, ‘Dang, she really worked you to that spot," he explained. "She just did an awesome job and she's pretty."
