Post Malone has been saying that he feels like a rockstar for a while now, but now that his new album, Beerbongs & Bentleys, is out, Post has more time to follow his real passion: performing covers classic Elvis Presley songs to unexpecting crowds.
TMZ posted footage a “very drunken” Post Malone, up on stage at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge last night, a historical honky-tonk bar that frequently showcases Nashville’s local talent. While Post was born in New York, he grew up in Texas so he couldn’t resist the opportunity to get up on stage with the band and perform a few covers. The footage shows Post singing Elvis Presley’s 1954 hit song, “That’s All Right,” George Thorogood’s “Move It On Over,” among others, to the screams the adoring crowd. One guy f-camera gets so excited that he almost gets kicked out the bar. And course, Post is holding his trademarked Bud Light beer in his hand as he belts into the microphone.
While most Post’s music is about as far away from Rock n’ Roll as you can get, Post has never shied away from his admiration for the genre, and the other attendees the bar were clearly moved by Post’s passion. That, or they were just excited to be in the same room as a guy who just beat The Beatles for the most amount songs in the Billboard top 20.
