P!nk Shares Photo Of Her Kids at Holocaust Memorial: ‘Keep Your Hatred & Judgment to Yourselves’

P!nk preemptively went into protective mama bear mode on Sunday (July 14) when posting pictures of her two children, Willow, 8, and son Jameson, 2, who appeared to be running through Berlin's Holocaust memorial.

"And for all of the comments; these two children are in actuality Jewish, as am I and the entirety of my mothers family," the singer, who was in the city on tour, wrote alongside the image of the kids making their way through the memorial's 2,711 concrete slabs. "The very person who constructed this believed in children being children, and to me this is a celebration of life after death. Please keep your hatred and judgment to yourselves."

Some commenters did, indeed take the singer to talk for the post, with one writing, "This place is not definitely a hide-and-seek place, dear Pink," while another defended the pic. "Kudos to you for allowing your children the experience of being CHILDREN. And for bringing to light that meaning behind the memorial is not only to remember but to allow children to be children." A third added, "It's beautiful that a place that remembers so much death and horror, it's children who bring light, laughter, and love to it and make it beautiful again."

Most of the responses to the post were positive, with one noting that the memorial's New York-based architect, Peter Eisenman, said in 2017, "People have been jumping around on those pillars forever… It's like a Catholic church, it'sa meeting place, children run around, they sell trinkets. A memorial is an everday occurrence, it's not sacred ground."

Since its opening in 2005, the site has been controversial due to the frequency of visitors taking selfies and playfully climbing and skipping across the concrete pillars. An Israeli-German artist, Shahak Shapira, launched a website in 2017 called "Yolocaust," juxtaposing images of playful selfies juxtaposed with horrific images from concentration camps.

Pink performed at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Sunday night. Last week, the singer also had plenty to say to the "parenting police" after she posted a pic of Willow running through the sprinklers, four months after telling Ellen DeGeneres that she was done uploading shots of her kids because of the constant stream of negative commentary.
