Pilgrimage Forced to Cancel Final Day of Festival Due to Severe Weather


Jack White, Lionel Richie, Hozier and extra didn't get the possibility to take the stage at this 12 months's Pilgrimage Festival, because the occasion noticed an early finish to Saturday (Sept. 22)'s programming and a full-on cancelation for Sunday (Sept. 23) because of gloomy climate.

The competition -- which takes place in Miley Cyrus and Kesha's shared hometown of Franklin, Tenn. -- canceled the rest of Saturday's performances after thunder began rumbling close by. A whopping 69 lightning strikes have been recorded within the space, and manufacturing initially cleared its schedule of Sunday's performances as a security precaution when the rain didn't let up.

"Due to the unsafe circumstances at Harlinsdale Farm and the specter of continued inclement climate, metropolis officers have declared that September 23rd’s occasion has been cancelled," the Pilgrimage web site reads. "As at all times, your security is our in the beginning precedence. Thank you once more in your endurance and assist. Please proceed to observe the Pilgrimage app and our social media channels for more information."

White, Richie and Chris Stapleton have been billed as 2018's Pilgrimage headliners; in earlier years, Justin Timberlake returned to his homestate to headline the competition.
