Pharrell Williams Unveils New Fashion Collaboration "Chanel Pharrell"

Pharrell Williams has always been an innovator, drawing back to his Neptunes work with the eternally slept on Chad Hugo. Decades (and countless platinum plaques) later, Skateboard P has gone and checked another accomplishment off his bucket list. The producer slash mogul has officially unveiled his new fashion collaboration with Chanel, by way of the aptly titled “Chanel Pharrell.”

The capsule has been previously teased by way of a Harper’s Bazaar fashion spread, but interested parties can now check out the full collection through a cinematic advertisement. With a strong emphasis on vibrant colors, particularly strong reds and yellows, “Chanel Pharrell” appears to draw influence from Japanese culture. In a behind-the-scenes featurette, Pharrell explains how the influence of “Akira” formed his recent capsule, how the collaboration stemmed from a bet, the impact of the late Karl Lagerfeld, and how gender fluidity plays a role in shaping modern “Haute Couture” trends. Check out the clip below, and respect to Pharrell for his latest move.

The full collection is set for a global launch of  April 4, after being released in Seoul on March 29th.
