Following the success their initial Carpool Karaoke segment and tour Liverpool, James Corden invited Paul McCartney out to L.A. for a tour his stomping grounds — The Late Late Show fice — in a comical promo for the duo's primetime special that will air on Monday (Aug. 20) at 8:00 p.m on CBS.
The host walks McCartney through the fice, which proves to be mundane compared to the Beatle's tour around Liverpool. Corden shares stories about getting more paper for the copy machine, introduces Paul to an accountant with the same name (his real name turns out to be Brian), shows f the "crazy" writer's room and even teaches the music icon how to make a sandwich.
McCartney continually checks his watch and makes passive aggressive comments such as, "James, is this what you had me fly all the way out to L.A. for?" and "James, I've had sandwiches before." Corden finally detects the musician's growing disappointment and suggests another idea: air more the footage from their trip to Liverpool.
When Corden Met McCartney: Live From Liverpool will document the two's trip across the pond as they visit McCartney's old haunts and discuss his personal history.
