OneRepublic Dance With Ballerinas and Long to Be ‘Wanted’ in New Watch

Longing for a lover? It's okay, just dance it out. At least that's how OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder copes with being lovelorn in the video for the group's latest release, "Wanted."

The pop band dropped the undulating track Friday (Sept. 6), which actually sees Tedder telling the tale of a woman's struggle to find love ("She said 'I'm holdin' to the notion that I'll find something real,'" he sings). Though OneRepublic is clearly telling someone else's story, "Wanted" is a sentiment that anyone can relate to, especially the chorus: "I just want to be wanted/ I could use a little love sometimes."

In the video for "Wanted," Tedder shows off his dancing skills with some interpretive moves, later joining a crew of ballerinas as the rest of OneRepublic and a string quartet play around them. While the song may not be about him specifically, Tedder's empassioned moves make you feel the song even more.

"Wanted" is OneRepublic's second single of 2019, following the racing track "Rescue Me" that the band released in May. The video was directed by Christian Lamb of Black Dog Films, who also directed the dance-centric video for "Rescue Me."

OneRepublic just played two nights with a full orchestra at Red Rocks Amphiteatre in their native Colorado, and will next be playing at San Diego's KAABOO Del Mar Festival on Sept. 14. They'll also be appearing on the Today show on Sept. 27, then performing at Global Citizen Music Festival in New York City later this month. They've played "Wanted" in their set before, so if you're catching one of their shows in the next month, prepare for a live rendition — and maybe even a little dancing from Tedder.
