Old Dominion ‘Make It Sweet’ at the 2019 ACM Awards With Fun Singalong Performance

Nashville quintet Old Dominion brought a rollicking performance of latest single "Make It Sweet" to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night (April 7).

The group's feel-good performance was a clear fan favorite, with the energy in the crowd audible as the song's chorus gave way to a ripping guitar solo. "Life is short/ Make it sweet," singer Matthew Ramsey offers on the single's singalong chorus, and the band made good on that with a performance that didn't outlast its welcome by a second.

Old Dominion are up for group of the year at this year's ACMs, an award they won in 2018 after losing to Little Big Town the year before that.

"Make It Sweet" is currently climbing the country charts, hitting a new peak of No. 5 on Billboard's Country Airplay listing this week. It's expected to be the third single from the group's upcoming third album.
