New Kanye West Song "Southside Serenade" Has Surfaced

Kanye West may have taken to the mountains, but the man has single-handedly produced a healthy tourism spike in local Wyoming gift shops. While a cavalcade talented artists continue to pop up in and around in the mountainside state, Kanye has been crafting his yet untitled ninth studio album. While information remains scare, Teyana Taylor recently teased a welcome return to one Ye’s multiple artistic personalities, the wide-eyed “Polo Ye.” Could this mean a return to the nostalgic, sample-based aesthetic “The College Dropout?” The answer remains to be seen. Still, Kanye’s upcoming album stands as one music’s most anticipated releases.

Today, we may very well have scored a premature taste what’s to come. HypeBeast has shared a link to a new Kanye West track called “Southside Serenade,” which may very well be slated for his new project. In truth, the song is far from “Polo Ye”; it seems to be reminiscent  Life Of Pablo’s “Ultralight Beam,” or even some  808s & Heartbreak.

Thematically, the Serenade appears to be an ode to the late Donda West, who continues to live on through her son’s music.  The song is almost entirely sung, and a synthesized vocoder provides the instrumental backbone. It’s unclear whether or not this one is set to appear on Ye’s upcoming album, but if so, perhaps we can begin to pinpoint a direction. The unfinished nature does seem to suggest an unreleased demo, as it bears similarities to Paul McCartney collaboration “Only One.”

As now, the SoundCloud link remains active, though for how much longer is anybody’s guess. Check out the new vibes from Yeezy right here
