As RuPaul’s Drag Race continues to grow its cultural dominance, more and more spinoffs of the show continue to crop up. The latest is RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, a British version of the reality show, set to air in the UK this fall — and now the show is revealing their latest celebrity guest star.
British singer-songwriter Mnek will be joining the show as a special guest vocal coach. In a statement to BBC, which will air the series on BBC Three when it releases this fall, Mnek said, “I had so much fun working with the queens on Drag Race UK! The public is in for a real treat."
Mnek also released a behind-the-scenes picture of him posing with none other than RuPaul himself, cheekily admitting to fans that he wanted to tell them sooner. Crossing out a sentence that said he “had to sign an NDA and not tell” his fans about the casting, the star said that he was “excited 2 have been asked to be a part of it – can’t wait to see how the episode pans out. Also @rupaulofficial was super sweet and tall.”
The singer joins a growing list of celebrities set to appear on the show: alongside RuPaul and Michelle Visage at the judges’ panel will be late night hosts Graham Norton and Alan Carr; reality stars AJ and Curtis Pritchard will work as guest choreographers on the show; and stars Andrew Garfield, Maisie Williams, Geri Horner, Jade Thirlwall and more will appear as guest judges.
