Expertly utilizing Bruno Mars lyrics for a steamy dialogue, Kate Beckinsale and Milo Ventimiglia star alongside James Corden on Thursday night time’s (March 14) version of The Late Late Show’s comical “Soap Opera” sketch.
In an episode of the (fictional) cleaning soap, The Bold and The Lyrical, silky PJ-clad Beckinsale and Corden tried to cover their affair from Ventimiglia. “Out right here drippin’ in finesse, a rental in Manhattan, it’s Saturday night time and we within the spot,” Corden quipped the lyrics to Mars' first Cardi B collab “Finesse,” 2016's "That's What I Like" and his 2014 smash hit "Uptown Funk."
“Is it that look in your eyes or is it this dancing juice,” a seductive Beckinsale quoted Mars’ 2011 monitor, “Marry You.” Corden was then compelled to cover in plain sight as Ventimiglia, Beckinsale’s billionaire love curiosity, walked in.
Wearing a tailor-made blue go well with, Ventimiglia stunned the Brit by kneeling down and once more quoting “Marry You,” (“Hey child, I feel I wanna marry you"). “24 karat magic?” Beckinsale hilariously responded with the 2016 banger "24okay Magic.”
However, it wouldn’t be a cleaning soap opera with out a bit extra drama -- and Ventimiglia quickly caught on that Corden laid on the sofa. They then dueled with much more passionate lyrics from Mars -- with Ventimiglia slipping up and quoting Lady Gaga's "Shallow" as an alternative.
"Oh, proper, yeah -- it's been caught in my head ever because the Oscars, sorry about that," Ventimiglia stated as all of them broke character for just a few seconds earlier than the cleaning soap reached the climax.
