The men's NCAA Tournament concludes tonight at the Alamodome in San Antonio with a matchup between the #3 Michigan Wolverines and the top seeded Villanova Wildcats. Nova, in search their second NCAA title in the last three years, is favored by 6.5 points heading into tonight's game, which will air on TBS at 9:20pm ET. The over/under is currently set at 144.5 points.
It'll be Villanova's high-powered fense, led by Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson, against the Wolverines stingy defense which ranks third in Division I, according to Ken Pomeroy’s adjusted efficiency. Villanova is coming f a 95-point effort in their win against Kansas in the Final Four, while the Wolverines advanced to the title game with a 69-57 victory against the Cinderella story the NCAA Tournament, Loyola-Chicago.
The Wildcats have won each game the tournament by at least 12 points, going 6-0 against the spread in the process, including their 16-point victory over the #1 seeded Jayhawks on Saturday night. According to ESPN, if Villanova beats Michigan by 10 or more points tonight, they'll become just the the fourth team in the modern era to win every tournament game by double figures. Meanwhile, Michigan has survived a number close contests throughout March, including their incredible buzzer-beating victory against Houston in the second round.
24 25 ESPN analysts have predicted a "W" for the Wildcats, and all signs seem to point to Villanova capturing their third title in school history, but that's why they play the games.
