Legendary singer Marc Anthony will receive the Latin AMA International Artist Award of Excellence at the Latin American Music Awards 2019, Telemundo has announced.
Given for the first time, the International Artist Award of Excellence honors artists that turn the world around with their greatness, crossing over language, race or religion. Their nationality has no borders; they stand for peace, and their songs reverberate as musical anthems.
In May, six-time Grammy and Latin Grammy made his comeback to the music scene after releasing his eighth salsa album Opus. In 2012, Anthony started the Maestro Cares Foundation, hosting several fundraising events throughout the year to benefit the non-profit organization and build orphanages in Latin America. Also, the Puerto Rican star is the owner of his entertainment company, Magnus Media.
Marc Anthony will also join the previously-announced lineup of performers such as Ozuna, Becky G, CNCO, Gente de Zona, Farruko, Wisin & Yandel, Christian Nodal, Zion & Lennox, Beret, Abraham Mateo, Sofía Reyes, Lupita Infante, Kali Uchis, and Emilia Mernes.
Hosted by Eugenio Derbez and Jackie Bracamontes, the 2019 Latin AMAs will broadcast live from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California on Oct. 17.
The award ceremony will also air simultaneously on Spanish-language entertainment cable network, Universo and in 20 countries throughout the Americas Telemundo Internacional.
