Mac Miller’s Estate Shares Unreleased Studio Footage & Releases 10th Anniversary ‘Macadelic’ Vinyl

Wednesday (March 23) marks the 10-year anniversary since the release of Mac Miller’s Macadelic mixtape. Mac Miller’s estate has decided to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the project by releasing a limited-edition vinyl of the 2012 mixtape.

The vinyl record is now available over at the late rapper’s online shop for $35 and comes with a free 11×17 poster. A portion of the proceeds grossed from sales will also benefit the Mac Miller Fund, which supports aspiring musicians with the proper equipment.

The late Pittsburgh native’s estate also shared exclusive unreleased footage of Mac Miller from around the time period the 2012 Macadelic mixtape was released.

Clips show him in the studio cooking up as well as on release day. Mac’s also seen speaking at a school about the project and performing at The Macadelic Tour in support of the project.

“This mixtape is crazy different than anything I’ve ever done,” he tells a crowd. “That’s what I usually say before I put anything out… It’s a different kind of project. It’s deep and I talk a lot of stuff on here and I say a lot of meaningful things… For the first time, I stopped thinking about what music I should make and just how to say what I wanted to say.”

Macadelic features star-studded assists from Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Joey Badass, Camron, Juicy J, Sir Michael Rocks and more. The mixtape eventually landed on streaming services just months prior to Mac’s death in May of 2018.

Following Mac Miller’s passing due to an accidental overdose on September 7, 2018, Macadelic went on to debut at No. 108 on the Billboard 200 with 8,000 total album-equivalent units.
