Following the tragic passing rapper, singer and producer Mac Miller, collaborators and fans alike have coped with the loss in various ways, whether it be recalling a memory on social media, digging up old videos or listening through his works.
Billboard Dance reached out to Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken Big Gigantic who toured with Miller in 2014 and later brought him out for their sold-out New York show in 2016 at Terminal 5.
"We’ve know Mac since we toured Australia together in 2014," Lalli tells Billboard, "and he’s always just been the coolest guy and you could always tell he was just a complete genius. One minute he’d be spittin' bars, the next singing, the next playing piano. Brilliant! He came out to our Terminal 5 show in NYC a couple years back to just hang out and came up on stage with us and got the crowd hyped. It was such a cool moment for us. He had such a beautiful mind and we were happy to be his friends."
Salken Big Gigantic adds, "So heartbroken over this. Mac was such an incredible artist & great human. So very thankful for the time we spent with him over the years. His music continued to get deeper and deeper, more and more authentic. We lost a true creator today. My heart pours out to his family. Rest In Peace Malcolm."
Miller passed away Friday, Sept. 7 due to an apparent overdose in his San Fernando Valley home.
